HOT SPRINGS, Ariz. — Jimmie Boyd Wood, 86, died Feb. 10, 2019, in Hot Springs, Arizona. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Aberdeen First Presbyterian Church with Van Moore and Ann Houston Keely officiating. Burial will follow at Oddfellows Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Wood was born June 15, 1932, in Okolona, to the late Marshall Spiva and Carlie Lou Wood. He was a 1950 graduate of Aberdeen High School and attended Mississippi State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War in the Dixie Division. He also serve as a Colonel in the National Guard. He was formerly employed with Dryden Manufacturing Company and Kerr-McGhee Chemical Corporation in Hamilton. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Marshall Jeffry Wood; and sister, Virginia Early Dryden. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Andrews Wood; daughter, Melinda Wood Hatcher of Hot Springs; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’ Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee or to the First Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen.
