WEST POINT — Jackie Austin 70, died Feb. 10, 2019, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point with Mr. Clark Richardson officiating. Visitation will be from noon-1:30 p.m. prior to services at the Calvert Funeral Home. Calvert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Austin was born March 7, 1948, in Calhoun City, to the late William Earl and Christine Welker Austin. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He was formerly employed with Prestage Farms and was self-employed as a farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eloise Morgan; and brothers, Joe Edd Austin and Danny Austin. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Stafford Austin of Columbus; son, Kenneth Roach of Vernon, Alabama; sister, Jewel Robinson of New Albany; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Byron Wilson, Corey Davis, Christopher Roach, Jim Murray, Terry Emerson and Ray Boeke. Memorials may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, P.O. Box 2177, Tupelo, MS 38803.
