BOGUE CHITTO — Garner G. Morgan, 84, died Jan. 9, 2019, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Morgan Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben Yarber and the Rev. Robin Risher officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville and one hour prior to services Sunday at the church. Welch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Morgan was born to the late Frank and Lecta Maude Jackson Morgan. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of Morgan Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Crowson Morgan. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Ann Smith Redd Morgan of Bogue Chitto; sons, Keith Morgan and Kyle Morgan, both of Sturgis, Kirk Morgan of Philadelphia, Tim Redd, Jeff Redd and Chris Redd, all of Bogue Chitto; daughters, Denise Redd Cain of Bogue Chitto and Tammy Redd Williford of Madison; brother, Frank LaDell Morgan of Sturgis; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Baptist Children’s Village in Jackson or French Camp Academy, 1 Fine Place, French Camp, MS 39745.
