Sallie Springer COLUMBUS ó Sallie P. Springer, 104, died Oct. 10, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Southside M.B. Church with the Rev. Willie Mays officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul M.B. Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Carterís Funeral Services. Carterís Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Springer was born Feb. 9, 1914, in Columbus, to the late John Perkins and Mary Curry. She was a member of St. Paul M.B. Church and attended Southside M.B. Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Springer Sr.; siblings, Mary Williams, Jane Williams, Bessie Jordan, Elnora Wiley, Liza Perkins, Mack Perkins, William Perkins, Robert Perkins, Tommie Perkins, Mitchell Perkins and John Perkins. She is survived by her daughters, Sallie Ann Davis and Joyce Ann Rush, both of Columbus; son, George Springer Jr. of Newport News, Virginia; sister, Catherine Webb of Chicago, Illinois; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Ronald Davis, Demetrice Jethrow, Anthony Rush, Kenneth Jones, Reginald Jones and Jamel Davis.
